Born and raised in Fayetteville, NC
Many of my family members served or are still serving in the US Army. Naturally, I had early aspirations to follow in those same footsteps, but my parents encouraged me to pursue a college education as a primary option out of high school.
Growing up in the south, my dietary choices were not the healthiest. I struggled with my weight until the 7th grade where I decided to become involved in sports. This interest turned into an addiction, and I wanted to be a year-round athlete. I played football in the fall, wrestled in the winter and baseball in the spring. This is where my passion for fitness and being a part of a team began.
I graduated from East Carolina University with a degree in Exercise Physiology and have been involved with the fitness industry since. Upon graduation, my wife’s graduate program led me to relocate to Asheville, NC, where I began a career with Gold’s Gym as a personal trainer. After several promotions, I worked my way to a General Manager.
My 10 years of experience include managing a team of over 20 personal trainers, piloting a studio style functional fitness program, and managing the day to day business and over 80 employees. My wife and I recently relocated back to the Raleigh area, and over the past year have been working towards entering a physical therapy program.
Fitness is a large part of my life and since discovering this passion I have continued to mentor and inspire others to discover their inner athlete.
